SAB NewsThe Science Advisory Board Commemorates its Fifth Year AnniversaryPosted 9/11/2002 As The Science Advisory Board commemorates its fifth year anniversary, I would like to highlight the many ways in which our members have helped build a dynamic, online community of over 13,000 individuals from 62 countries. Since 1997, The Science Advisory Board has become a central hub of biomedical and life science information on the Internet. This information includes profiles of scientists and medical professionals in the Member Spotlight column; book, website and product reviews; discussions on science, medical and policy issues in the Discussion Forum; editorials on cutting edge or controversial topics in the Perspectives column; and job and curricula vitae postings. “The Science Advisory Board was the first scientific forum I found that utilized the advances in communication technology in such a positive manner. We are our own greatest resource and the SAB has given us the ability to connect and share our experiences and expertise thereby strengthening the Scientific Community as a whole. The Science Advisory Board is a positive force influencing the future conduct of science and medicine. "I have been a SAB member since the beginning.
